Thermo-Floor Comments On Ofgem’s 30 Day Notice Period
Regulator Ofgem have enforced a 30 day notice period in advance of price increases of energy rates.
This now gives the consumer time to shop around for an energy supplier as opposed to being told up to 65 days after of the price increase.
Neil Evans, Managing Director of Thermo-Floor comments; “There is nothing people can do about the rising cost of energy. It is a similar situation to taxing a car. It is impossible to ‘shop’ around for cheaper car tax but you can choose a vehicle which will reduce the amount of car tax payable. This rationale can easily be applied to energy and heating sources and appliances; heat pumps, wood chip boilers, underfloor heating systems would all reduce energy consumption and therefore decrease heating bills considerably”.
