Maintaining Commercial Heating Systems
Commercial Underfloor Heating Maintenance and Repairs
If you’ve invested in an upgrade to commercial underfloor heating, the great news is that maintenance is minimal compared to what you may be used to. While underfloor heating systems require very little maintenance and seldom have issues, we do recommend preventative maintenance to ensure your system’s long life.
We can service both your underfloor heating system and heat pumps, checking flow rates, manifolds and electrical systems for faults. Not only is this service carried out with minimal disruption, but it also prevents potential disruptions to your business operations should a problem arise in the future.
With commercial underfloor heating maintenance, you can have peace of mind that your premises will be heated when it’s needed most, as well as ensuring your system is operating efficiently.

Some Of The Most Common Underfloor Heating Faults
A well maintained underfloor heating system will rarely encounter any faults, however there are a few common issues that can occur when regular health checks haven’t been carried out.
- An isolated cold spot in your system
If you’ve noticed an area of your underfloor heating that isn’t getting warm, it’s most likely due to the heating valve actuator becoming stuck – an easily fixable problem for a Thermo-Floor engineer. Alternatively, it could be as simple as the thermostat needing new batteries. These are all things that will be checked during routine maintenance. - Multiple cold spots in your system
There are a number of reasons your underfloor heating may stop working entirely, or in multiple zones of your building. Perhaps an isolation valve has closed on the manifold, or the blending valve pin has stuck. Often, these are easily fixed by an experienced technician. - Underfloor heat pump constantly going
The underfloor pump is designed to fire on and off as needed, keeping the running costs low. However, if the pump is permanently on, you’ll soon see the effects in your energy bill. This issue is usually caused by faulty wiring, which would be picked up during regular maintenance.
